Online therapy for people in London

Living in London can be exciting – but it can also be exhausting. Long working hours, busy commutes, high costs, and limited time to switch off can all take a toll on your mental health.

Online therapy offers a calm, confidential space where you don’t have to travel across the city or rush to make an appointment. You can talk from your own home or a private space, wherever you are in London.

Therapy that fits around London life

Many of the people I work with are juggling demanding jobs, busy family lives, or irregular working hours. You might notice you’re constantly “on”, struggling to switch off, or finding that your stress is starting to affect your sleep, mood, relationships, or confidence. You may feel isolated, even when you’re surrounded by people, or you might be dealing with a major life change such as a breakup, bereavement, or a shift at work.

Online sessions can make it easier to get support without adding more pressure to your day. There’s no travel time, no waiting rooms, and no need to factor in a journey across London. You simply find a quiet, private space, log on, and we use the time to focus on what you’re going through and what you need.

Some people find it easier to talk openly from their own environment. Others appreciate the flexibility – especially if they work long hours or move between different parts of the city. However it looks for you, we’ll work at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of what you’re ready to explore.

How online sessions work

Sessions last for 50 minutes and take place online via secure video. You can be based anywhere in London or elsewhere in the UK, as long as you have a private space and a stable internet connection.

I offer a free 30-minute initial online consultation, which is simply a chance for us to meet, talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. There’s no obligation to book further sessions after this.

If we agree to continue, ongoing sessions are £50 per hour. Payment is due on the day of your session and is made by bank transfer.

I also keep a small number of reduced-fee spaces for people who are unemployed, on a low income, or experiencing significant financial difficulty. These places are limited and subject to availability, and are intended for situations where cost would otherwise be a barrier to accessing therapy. If this applies to you, you’re welcome to mention it when you get in touch.

Is online therapy right for you?

Online therapy can be a helpful option if you want the support of a UK-based therapist but don’t have the time, energy, or practical ability to travel to a physical practice. It can work well if your schedule is unpredictable, if commuting already takes up enough of your day, or if you simply prefer the privacy and comfort of your own surroundings.

It isn’t the right fit for everyone, and that’s something we can talk about honestly in the initial consultation. If it seems that a different type of support would be more suitable, I will discuss this with you and, where possible, signpost you to other options.

Getting started

If you’re living or working in London and feel that it might help to talk things through with a therapist, you can contact me using the form on this website. You’re welcome to share as much or as little detail as feels comfortable at this stage, and you can mention that you’re based in London if that feels relevant.

From there, we’ll arrange a free 30-minute online consultation. It’s an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work, ask any questions you might have, and decide whether you’d like to book regular sessions.

Steps to Starting Therapy

30 Minute Initial Consultation

In a free, 30-minute consultation, we’ll have a relaxed conversation about what’s brought you here, what you’re hoping for, and any immediate concerns.

We’ll outline how sessions work, discuss confidentiality and practicalities, and ask a few gentle questions to check we’re the right fit for your needs.

There’s no pressure to decide on the spot—if we’re not the best match, we’ll point you to helpful alternatives.

Agreeing to Therapy

If we’re a good fit for each other, I'll invite you to begin by reviewing and signing a short therapy agreement.

It outlines what you can expect from me, what I ask of you, and the practicals (fees, payment, how to contact us, emergencies).

It’s clear and jargon-free, and you’re welcome to ask any questions before you sign.

Starting Therapy

Once you’re ready, we’ll choose a regular time (usually weekly) and begin gently.

In the first session I’ll get to know what matters most to you, agree simple goals, and offer practical next steps you can try between sessions.

We’ll pace things so you feel safe and supported, check in on how it’s going, and review progress together after a few sessions—adjusting the plan to fit what you need.
