Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) is a structured, time-limited therapy that focuses on the connection between how we feel and the quality of our relationships. It’s especially effective for people experiencing depression or going through major life changes.

IPT can help if you're struggling with:

  • Grief and loss — coping with the death of a loved one or other significant losses

  • Relationship conflicts — recurring tensions or communication difficulties with partners, family, or friends

  • Role transitions — adjusting to changes in life such as becoming a parent, retirement, separation, or job loss

  • Social isolation or difficulties forming close relationships

The goal of IPT is to improve your mood by helping you understand and address the interpersonal challenges that may be contributing to how you’re feeling. It can also help you build more supportive, fulfilling connections with others.

Sessions are structured and focused, but always tailored to your individual needs. We’ll work together to identify key areas of concern and develop practical strategies to help you feel more connected, supported, and emotionally resilient.
